Location
The Hotel Il Vecchio Mulino is located in Arbatax, a seaside district of Tortoli, that is a village built around a seventeenth century Saracen tower and placed at the foot of the promontory of Capo Bellavista. This place is known for its fantastic and picturesque red rocks, which are beautiful cliffs of red porphyry emerging from the sea and have become a symbol of this stretch of coast. A holiday at Il Vecchio Mulino will give you the possibility to discover  the Ogliastra, that eastern side of the Sardinian coast characterized by beautiful beaches set between sea and rock. Immersed in a luxuriant garden of olive trees where the colours and scents of the mediterranenan bush rule the roost, this modern brick-coloured building has been thought for going well with the surrounding nature and in order to create a harmonious environment. The hotel is situated a few steps from the bay of Porto Frailis and has a strategic position, because it’s near different tourist attractions such as the beautiful bays of the Gulf of Orosei, the natural park of Gennargentu and the caves of Ullassai.
It is 1.5 km from Tortoli airport, 134 km from Cagliari-Elmas, 164 km from Olbia AND 230 km from Alghero-Fertilia.

Rooms
The hotel has 24 rooms, that are elegantly furnished with a modern style, but with a care of the details that reminds the traditional style.  The dark red and blue colours of the tissues mix with those of the wooden furniture and of the wooden beam-ceiling. The bathrooms are particularly beautiful, because embellished by the precious marble of Carrara. All the rooms are so welcoming and  comfortable that every guest will have the feeling do be like at home. Some of them are with terrace and other with balcony, and are divided into double room, triple room and quadruple room. They are all spacious, bright and equipped with modern services like telephone, radio channel, air conditioning and heating, satellite TV, safe, minibar and wireless internet connection free of charge.

Restaurant
Located near the small reception, the restaurant is a bright  and very cosy place furnished with a particular attention to the detail. Every day the chef offers spectacular buffets made of fresh fruit and natural foods. But the flagship is certainly the wide selection of traditional cakes and desserts, which will delight all your awakenings. Eating well is a prerogative for any holiday of quality and in this hotel you will have the possibility to experience it. If you want to start the day in the better way possible, we suggest you to have breakfast sitting at its terrace and admiring a natural landscape of rare beauty.
The dinner is served at  Il Faro, a charming restaurant run by the owners of Il Vecchio Mulino that is 600 mt  far from the hotel. It is endowed with a terrace that overlooks the sea and offers a very romantic atmosphere for unforgettable dinners. The professional service of its staff go well together with the typical Mediterranean cuisine specialized in seafood. You can taste delicious foods, enjoy a breathtaking panorama view and to live an exciting experience that you will hardly forget.

Nearby the hotel there are other beautiful beaches like that one of Orri (4 km), Lotzorai (10 km) and Santa Maria Navarrese (15 km). But the pearl of this area is definitely the wonderful Golfo di Orosei, that is known for the amazing beauty of its wild and unpolluted creeks, which are reachable  by boat or through rough but fascinating trekking journeys. The hotel will be glad to organize for you a boat excursion that will lead you to the discovery of the natural wonders of Cala Goloritzè, Cala Mariolu, Cala Sisine and Cala Luna. For the most adventurous we recommend a trekking excursion to the impressive mountain of Gennargentu, the highest peak of the island, that is characterized by a territory mostly wild with deep gorges and canyons and populated from a fauna with great naturalistic value. Equally interesting is the excursion to Valle Lanaittu (Oliena) to the discovery of the nuragic village of Tiscali, which is the only settlement in Sardinia built inside a cave.
